This past Sunday was a perfect Cape Town afternoon—great company, stunning views, and an unforgettable wine tasting at Cape Point Vineyards.

A Rare Wine Experience

Hosted by the wonderful Devs, we had the rare treat of experiencing the 2023 Sauvignon Gris. Sauvignon Gris, a pinky-hued mutation of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, is scarce in South Africa. Cape Point Vineyards is among the first to cultivate and bottle this unique variety.

The wine impressed with aromas of white peach, elderflower, nectarine, and lavender. It even smelled delicious despite my nose being stuffed up from allergies—now that’s a testament to its power!

A soft entry led to a lush mid-palate of passionfruit and pear, with a silky texture and crisp, refined finish.
